The most acclaimed event of the year the ‘Global Peace and Unity Event 2006’ was held successfully on the 25th and 26th of November at Excel London. The event attracted over 50,000 people nationally and internationally, mainly Muslims who had gathered to celebrate Islam and unity.
The Global Peace & Unity Event organised by Islam channel has proved to be the world’s largest Islamic event attracting both Muslims and Non Muslims interested to experience the diversity of Islam and at the same time gain knowledge from International speakers, acclaimed academics and scholars.
Saturday 24th November celebrated the largest Nasheed concert in the world. International artists such as Ahmed Bukhatir, Zain Bhikha, Imad Rami, Abu Ratib, Dawud Wharnsby and many more performed in front of over 22000 people.
Sunday 25th November was the second day of this two day event, it was magnificent and full of excitement with a celebrity line up of prominent international speakers and performers.
There is an excitement and thrill for everyone at the annual Global Peace & Unity Event. The GPU 2005 and 2006 catered for every one in the community from students, professionals, businessmen, kids, senior citizens and housewives etc.
This year’s event displayed a marvellous exhibition of the holy mosque in Makkah which holds a major significance in every Muslims life. Exhibitors from Saudi Arabia showed a live demonstration of the making of the holy black cloth draped around the Kaaba. The display model of the entire Holy Mosque and films about its making attracted huge public attention.
This exclusive exhibition was brought to Europe for the first time at the Global Peace & Unity Event.
No doubt the event once again proved to be a huge success and gave the message of peace & unity to thousands at the venue and millions viewing the live coverage.
